Compared with other types of ATEX compliant heaters, the EHSAFE20VR has the benefit of emitting radiant short-wave infrared heat, so will not be affected by air movement. Provides a very high heat output for the power rating due to the large parabolic reflector. Other ATEX-approved heaters work by warming the air whereas this heater delivers shortwave infrared, making it ideal for heating very dusty, hazardous, cold, damp and draughty workplaces. It is particularly suited to ATEX areas where high ventilation rates are needed to extract fumes and/or hazardous dust particles —areas where attempting to warm people by warming the air would be impractical.  The fact these heaters create zero air movement is a huge benefit, particularly within very dusty environments or spray booths with high extraction.

The EHSAFE20VR is both dust tight and impervious to strong direct water jets (IP66). The heavy-duty cast aluminium heat-sink enclosure is designed to dissipate away surplus heat for maximum reliability. Features a high-emissivity ROBAX glass front and a substantial tilt and swivel mounting bracket. Four M6 threaded suspension points are included to enable the heater to be suspended from chains. Typical heated area is up to 20m².

Warning:
This heater is suitable for installation in explosive atmosphere conditions, classified zone 2 & 22, pursuant to the ATEX directive 2014/34/EU.
Zone 2-22 indicates that the atmosphere, which is normally not explosive during routine use, may, on rare occasions, briefly become explosive (generally in the presence of a malfunction). The heater therefore cannot be installed in zones other than those classed as ZONE 2 & 22. T2 indicates that the ignition temperature of the flammable gases of the classified zone must be higher than 300°C. The table below from EN ISO 80079-36:2016 lists all the temperature classes:
