Video transcript:

Welcome to Episode 8 of SunSwitch Tuesdays, brought to you by myself and Steve Hull of SunSwitch.

Last week, I had a call from a customer and they’ve got a existing gas-fired heating system which isn’t working very well, and they were phoning up for a bit of advice. They’ve got a couple of options, one is to repair their current system and add destratification fans to try and blow that warm air back down that keeps rising, or they could switch from the gas-fired system to our SunSwitch infrared heaters. They asked what would their benefit be, what’s the benefit for them, switching from gas to our SunSwitch heaters. How do you think we would answer that Steve?

I think that’s a great question, I don’t really know where to start on that one, but I think that firstly, the fact that the system is half broken down demonstrates the fact that a gas warm air heating system needs maintenance. The key thing with SunSwitch heaters is the fact that there is no maintenance involved at all, so it’s an added cost-saving to anybody having SunSwitch.

Secondly, you can’t stop warm air rising, so having a destratification system is not going to fix the problem, and is not going to help their own energy costs, because you’re using two systems. The heat that is produced by SunSwitch is not rising, its not heating the bats in the roof, it’s also not escaping through the roller shutter doors, so it’s the most perfect solution to actually install in a warehouse space. It’s common sense.

Thirdly, a gas heating system is actually trying to heat an entire space, whereas SunSwitch heaters are just heating a targeted space, a targeted person, so therefore its improving energy costs by anything up to 70%.

So the fourth point is very much around the health and wellbeing side. With a gas warm air system, you’re actually blowing dust around, you’re potentially blowing colds and viruses around, and with SunSwitch heaters, the way that the technology works, you’re not getting any air movement at all whatsoever, so completely eliminates that issue.

That’s fantastic Steve, some great answers there, and I’m sure others watching will benefit from what Steve’s had to say. We look forward to you tuning in next Tuesday. Thank you for watching!
