What is HeatLogik technology and how does it work?
HeatLogik – Short-Wave Infrared Electric Radiant technology, is the same comfortable warmth that you feel from the sun but without any harmful UV. HeatLogik emits nearly 100% radiant heat, which means it is not heating the air directly, and this is why we believe HeatLogik is the most logical choice of heating technology for any industrial and manufacturing space. Unlike convection warm-air heating systems that struggle in challenging environments, HeatLogik will deliver targeted warmth instantly and efficiently, even in the hardest-to-heat spaces.
Whether your facility has high ceilings, poor insulation, frequently opened roller shutter doors, or is constantly battling draughts, HeatLogik cuts through the cold to keep your people comfortable, happy and productive, while outperforming any other heating technology on both effectiveness and efficiency.
For example, if you walk from the shade into the sun, the air doesn’t get any warmer, but you feel instantly warmer as you are absorbing HeatLogik’s radiated warmth. This is why HeatLogik is so efficient and effective as the heat emitted doesn’t rise but is targeted exactly where and when it is needed.
Why are SunSwitch HeatLogik heaters the best in the market?
The Quality of heaters have been proven in the market over 20 years and due to the patented design of the Parabolic reflectors, these are typically 30% more effective in radiating out the warmth than other heaters with the same power rating on the market. Heaters are built from powder-coated steel meaning they’ll last a lifetime compared with cheap alternatives that are effectively disposable.
What are the key advantages of a SunSwitch HeatLogik heating system?
HeatLogik enables you to provide targeted warmth to key areas when and where it is required, instead of paying to heat an entire space which is how traditional convection warm-air heating systems work, with most of the warm-air in an industrial space either rising or escaping out the roller shutter doors.
HeatLogik heaters are purely electric and the heaters themselves are zero carbon, so they will help to reduce your carbon footprint. Heaters are nearly 100% radiant, which means there is basically zero heat loss with this type of technology, so switching to HeatLogik will hugely boost your EPC rating and makes your building MEES compliant.
Maintenance is very low, and the system is very scalable, which means you can easily add more heaters in the future, or move to a new location.
Why would HeatLogik electrical radiant heaters be considered when electricity is three times the cost of gas?
HeatLogik technology is still the most effective and efficient way to provide warmth to an industrial space, as heating the entire space is completely unnecessary, let alone the whole cubic air volume up to the roof. There is no heat-loss with HeatLogik technology, as the air isn’t being heated so no heat is rising or escaping out a roller shutter or fabric of the building.
Which SunSwitch HeatLogik heater is best for a dusty environment?
Dust-Proof 1.3kW Heater, EHSAFE20AL 2kW ATEX-rated Heater and the Varma WR2000 2kW Heater, available in a stainless-steel model too. Each of these heaters are glass fronted to keep dust off the element.

What are the typical running costs of SunSwitch HeatLogik heaters?
It is very easy to calculate the cost of running a heater by multiplying what you pay per kWh for electricity, by the kW-size of the heater. For example, if you’re paying £0.25 per kWh and your heater size is 2kW, then £0.25 x 2 = £0.50. This means it costs you £0.50 per hour to run the heater, on 100% full power. With HeatLogik controls you can vary the heat intensity down to reduce running costs even further, delivering a further conservative saving of 25%
What are the key electrical considerations when installing a HeatLogik heating system?
What spare electrical capacity you have to power the heaters and whether your supply is single or three phase. You can power any heater up to 3kW off a standard 3pin 13amp plug. HeatLogik heaters and controls will need to be installed by a qualified electrician and even better if they know the building already.
What is the lifespan of a SunSwitch HeatLogik heater?
They are no moving parts so the heaters themselves can last many years due to there high quality all-metal construction and powder-coating. The heater elements are replaceable and can last between 2000 to 5000 hours depending on the environment. Heater elements last longer with our controls as they incorporate a soft-start which stops the high inrush current when a heater is powered up, meaning the filament lasts longer. Our variable power regulator controls enable you to reduce the power to heater to reduce the heat output and saves the heater from operating continuously at 100%
How are the SunSwitch HeatLogik elements replaced?
There are instructions supplied with every heater on how to replace the heater elements. Always use gloves and avoid touching the elements with bare hands. And contamination can be cleaned with methylated spirits. We supply replacement elements for all heaters.
Do your SunSwitch HeatLogik heaters require regular maintenance?
Heaters are very similar to light fittings and do not require and ongoing routine maintenance. It is however always recommended and good practice to keep the silvery parabolic reflectors free from dust, including dust collected on glass-fronted heaters.
How large an area will a heater heat?
You will typically require between 200 – 250W per m², but we would always recommend reaching out to our technical experts for further advice. Too much warmth in middle of winter in better than too little as the heat output can be easily regulated with our control solutions.
